RADON is Radioactive & It causes CANCER

It comes from the natural decay of uranium that is found in nearly all soils and rocks. It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Your home traps radon inside, where it can build up. Any home may have a radon problem. This means new and old homes, well- sealed and drafty homes, and homes with or without basements.”EPA – “A Citizen’s Guide to Radon”

The process continues as Radon decays and produce other radioactive elements which, when attached to dust particles and inhaled, may lodge in the lungs. Radioactive decay elements then emit alpha particles in energy bursts that may affect the cells in the lung, this may lead to Lung Cancer.

Radon may cause mutations in lung cells, and the mutated cells will cause a tumor to develop. This mass may grow, replicate and spread until lung cancer develops. Inhaling radioactive particles is the main reason tumors develop and specialized testing is the only way to find it.

There is a connection between radon and lung cancer. Radioactive radon gas is deadly and can enter any home. It may cause lung cancer in moderate to high concentrations. Testing is the only way to know if Radon is in your house since it is invisible and odorless. The risk of cancer is real. Over 20,000 people die each year from cancer caused by exposure to Radon.

A professionally installed Radon Mitigation Systems limits your exposure to the deadly gas.
The most commonly installed Radon Reduction System use Active Soil Depressurization, this system works by reducing the pressure beneath your home and then venting the Radon gas out through one or more pipes, above the roof line.
